Four stages, in order, with the same crew on site for all of them. Nothing moves to the next stage until the one before it has been looked at.
Rot hides under shingles, siding and paint. The first day on any JaxWood job is spent finding out what is actually holding the house up — and photographing it, so you see the same thing we do.
Rafters, joists, subfloor, decking and load-bearing walls. Anything soft is cut back to sound material and replaced to code before a single layer goes back over it.
Underlayment, flashing, drip edge, valleys and penetrations go down in order and get checked before the next layer covers them. Heat, salt air and August storms are the standard we build against.
Screen enclosures, decks, pergolas, drywall, trim and paint. This is where the job stops being a construction site and turns back into your house — and it is the stage most crews rush.
What we do
A short list on purpose. We would rather be the crew you call back than the one that says yes to everything.
We strip the roof to the deck, replace what has failed, and rebuild it layer by layer — synthetic underlayment, ice and water at the valleys, new drip edge, new boots and flashing. Leak repairs and storm damage handled the same week where we can.
Sagging floors, soft decking, cracked rafters and termite damage are structural problems, not cosmetic ones. We cut back to sound wood, sister or replace the member, and rebuild the load path properly.
Pressure-treated and composite decks, screened porches, pool pergolas, railings and stairs. Posts set properly, hardware rated for coastal air, and a finish that still looks right after two rainy seasons.
Water damage, popcorn removal, new partitions, crown and baseboard, interior and exterior paint. Finish work is where most jobs get rushed, so it is the part we schedule the most time for.
Openings get reframed square, flashed correctly and sealed before the unit goes in — which is the difference between a window that lasts and one that rots the wall behind it.
One crew from demolition to final coat, with a written scope and a schedule you can hold us to. We coordinate the trades so you are not the one chasing an electrician on a Friday afternoon.
Most contractors in this market sell the job and hand it to whoever is available that week. That is where the quality goes.
JaxWood is a working crew, not a call centre. The person who walks your property and writes the number is on site while the work happens, and answers the phone afterwards. It is a smaller operation on purpose — we take the jobs we can stand behind, and we finish them before we start the next one.

Yes. When a job needs a permit we pull it and schedule the inspections, and the documentation is prepared before we start rather than after.
We document the damage properly — photographs, measurements and a written scope — so your adjuster has what they need. We do not negotiate the claim for you.
Yes. Coming out, measuring and writing the scope costs you nothing, and the price we put in writing is the price you pay unless you change the scope.
