One crew, from the frame to the final coat.

JaxWood rebuilds roofs, structures and interiors across Jacksonville and the Beaches. The same people who tear it off are the ones who finish it — so nothing gets covered up on the way through.

The sequence

How a JaxWood job actually runs.

Four stages, in order, with the same crew on site for all of them. Nothing moves to the next stage until the one before it has been looked at.

We open it up before we quote the finish.

Rot hides under shingles, siding and paint. The first day on any JaxWood job is spent finding out what is actually holding the house up — and photographing it, so you see the same thing we do.

  • Full tear-off and haul-away
  • Moisture and rot inspection
  • Documented before it gets covered

Bad wood comes out. It does not get covered.

Rafters, joists, subfloor, decking and load-bearing walls. Anything soft is cut back to sound material and replaced to code before a single layer goes back over it.

  • Rafters, joists and decking
  • Sistered and reinforced framing
  • Built back to code

North Florida weather decides how long a roof lasts.

Underlayment, flashing, drip edge, valleys and penetrations go down in order and get checked before the next layer covers them. Heat, salt air and August storms are the standard we build against.

  • Synthetic underlayment and flashing
  • Shingle and metal roofing
  • Sealed at every penetration

The part you actually live with.

Screen enclosures, decks, pergolas, drywall, trim and paint. This is where the job stops being a construction site and turns back into your house — and it is the stage most crews rush.

  • Screen enclosures and lanais
  • Decks, porches and pergolas
  • Drywall, trim and paint

What we do

Six things, done by the same hands.

A short list on purpose. We would rather be the crew you call back than the one that says yes to everything.

01 Roofing & re-roofing Full tear-offs, deck repair, architectural shingles and metal roofing.

We strip the roof to the deck, replace what has failed, and rebuild it layer by layer — synthetic underlayment, ice and water at the valleys, new drip edge, new boots and flashing. Leak repairs and storm damage handled the same week where we can.

  • Complete tear-off and re-roof
  • Rotten decking replacement
  • Architectural shingles
  • Standing seam and metal panel
  • Leak tracing and repair
  • Storm and wind damage

02 Structural framing & repair Rafters, joists, subfloor and load-bearing repairs.

Sagging floors, soft decking, cracked rafters and termite damage are structural problems, not cosmetic ones. We cut back to sound wood, sister or replace the member, and rebuild the load path properly.

  • Rafter and truss repair
  • Floor joist and subfloor
  • Termite and rot remediation
  • Load-bearing wall changes
  • Room additions and dormers
  • New construction framing

03 Decks, porches & pergolas Outdoor structures built to survive a Florida summer.

Pressure-treated and composite decks, screened porches, pool pergolas, railings and stairs. Posts set properly, hardware rated for coastal air, and a finish that still looks right after two rainy seasons.

  • Pressure-treated and composite decks
  • Pool decks and pergolas
  • Screened porches and lanais
  • Screen enclosure repair and re-screen
  • Railings, stairs and steps
  • Deck resurfacing and repair

04 Drywall, trim & paint Hang, tape, texture, trim and finish — done by the same crew.

Water damage, popcorn removal, new partitions, crown and baseboard, interior and exterior paint. Finish work is where most jobs get rushed, so it is the part we schedule the most time for.

  • Drywall hanging and finishing
  • Water damage repair
  • Texture and popcorn removal
  • Crown, casing and baseboard
  • Interior and exterior paint
  • Doors and hardware

05 Windows & doors Replacement, reframing, flashing and trim-out.

Openings get reframed square, flashed correctly and sealed before the unit goes in — which is the difference between a window that lasts and one that rots the wall behind it.

  • Replacement windows
  • Opening reframing and headers
  • Sliding and French doors
  • Exterior door replacement
  • Flashing and weather sealing
  • Interior and exterior trim-out

06 Renovations & additions Kitchens, baths, full interiors and room additions.

One crew from demolition to final coat, with a written scope and a schedule you can hold us to. We coordinate the trades so you are not the one chasing an electrician on a Friday afternoon.

  • Kitchen and bathroom remodels
  • Full interior renovations
  • Room and porch additions
  • Layout and wall changes
  • Rental and flip turnarounds
  • Permit-ready documentation

Exterior repair · Jacksonville, FL

There is no second crew.

Most contractors in this market sell the job and hand it to whoever is available that week. That is where the quality goes.

JaxWood is a working crew, not a call centre. The person who walks your property and writes the number is on site while the work happens, and answers the phone afterwards. It is a smaller operation on purpose — we take the jobs we can stand behind, and we finish them before we start the next one.

How we work

Four steps. No surprises on the invoice.

  1. 01

    We come out and look

Measurements, photos and a walk of the actual job. We do not quote a roof from a picture on your phone.

  2. 02

    Written scope and price

Line by line: what gets done, what it costs, what it does not include, and how many days it takes.

  3. 03

    One crew, in order

The same people from tear-off to final coat, with photographs as the work moves so you can follow it without standing in the driveway.

  4. 04

    We walk it with you

Nothing closes out until you have seen it in person and told us it is right.

Questions

Answered before you have to ask.

How fast can you look at my roof?

Most estimates in Duval County are scheduled within two business days. If there is active water coming into the house, call or text and we will move you up.

Do you handle the permit?

Yes. When a job needs a permit we pull it and schedule the inspections, and the documentation is prepared before we start rather than after.

Do you work with insurance claims?

We document the damage properly — photographs, measurements and a written scope — so your adjuster has what they need. We do not negotiate the claim for you.

Is the estimate free?

Yes. Coming out, measuring and writing the scope costs you nothing, and the price we put in writing is the price you pay unless you change the scope.

Who is actually on my property?

Our own crew. We do not sell the job and hand it to a subcontractor you have never spoken to.

Tell us what the house needs.
